Human Factors/Ergonomics in Organizational Design and Management (ODAM)

17th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE 2026)
AHFE 2026 will be held at Fenerbahçe University, Istanbul, from 20-24 July. The conference will address theoretical, generic, and applied areas of human factors and ergonomics. The International Annual Meeting of the HFES (The US Human Factors and Ergonomics Society), from 19-23 October 2026. The event will bring together academics, practitioners, students and industry professionals to discuss human-centred systems. Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia 2026 National Conference
This year’s theme is “The Perfect Fit”. The HFESA annual event will be held from 30 Nov to 2 Dec in the centre of Sydney, close to the best attractions, shopping precincts and entertainment venues. Answering the “So What” question about Human Robotic Interactions
In 2016, T. Sheridan published a review paper on the status and challenges of Human-Robotic Interactions (HRI), and it continues to be one of the most cited publications in human factors. In this most recent instalment of Research to Practice, answering the “So What” question, we will have Dr. Sheridan review this paper’s findings and suggest further research. Justin Croyle, from Amazon robotics, will talk about his work with robotics and some of the current and future needs he sees that practitioners need from scientists to make HRI as effective, efficient, and safe as possible.

How to employ the discipline of design to create good work. We’ll examine the discipline of design (the applications of service design with user experience) when considering the strategies employed at work. This is a presentation on HOW TO design good work, not just WHY.
Dr Elise Crawford is a Senior Lecturer at CQUniversity who specialises in professional practice in human factors and the safety sciences.
Sara Pazell is the principal work design strategist of a human-centred design consultancy in Australia.
